Expectations vs. Reality

Expectations versus reality. It can either surprise or disappoint you. I've noticed this today specifically three times. I'm in NY for the weekend and we went to see It's Only a Play. It's gotten amazing reviews and was supposed to be superb. So I was watching it expecting the best. But when I saw it I was underwhelmed. The humor was for an age group older than mine. We then went for a snack at an Irish pub and ordered potato skins (traditional American). We expected half a potato, fried and warm. Instead we got a fourth of a potato and it was cold. There are other examples, but people rarely realize how STRONG expectations are and how much they can hurt you.
